Infoblox To Showcase Partner Solution and Present at Interop 2011 Las Vegas

Infoblox, the market leading developer of advanced network infrastructure automation and control solutions, today announced the company will be participating in several activities at Interop Las Vegas, May 10 – 12, 2011, demonstrating Infoblox’s vision for delivering business agility through network automation.

  • Partner Solution Showcase: Infoblox will be participating in a standards-based, multivendor IF-MAP solution demonstration that integrates physical security with network security.
  • Panel Presentation: Infoblox Vice President of Marketing Steve Garrison will participate in a panel discussion 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. May 11, 2011 titled “Supporting the Dynamic Movement of Resources”.

The partner solution, which will be showcased in the Enterasys booth (#1351), uses the IF-MAP standard protocol. The protocol was developed by the Trusted Network Connect (TNC) working group under the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). It enables different systems to exchange data securely and in real time.

The demonstration will orchestrate the activities of a Hirsch Electronics physical access control system and an Enterasys switch or access point. In the demonstration, Infoblox is providing a NIOS™ appliance for IP address assignment services (DHCP) and an IBOS™ appliance to serve as a MAP server.

This security application enables, for example, the Enterasys system to allow or deny access to specific network resources in real time depending on whether the user is physically present in a specific room, such as data center or secure area, as reported by the Hirsch system.

“As Alliance partners, we recognize the tight synergies between our companies and our market leading management and security technologies—particularly the tools provided by our NAC solution to facilitate automated provisioning and visibility in network management,” said Markus Nispel, Chief Technology Strategist at Enterasys Networks. “By supporting TCG standards such as the TNC’s IF-MAP protocol, Enterasys can leverage the Infoblox Orchestration Server to easily share data with any other IF-MAP compatible product, enabling unique security services that integrate seamlessly with asset discovery, tracking, real-time location and virtually anything else in the IT infrastructure.”

Richard Kagan, Executive Vice President of the Infoblox Orchestration Business Systems Unit at Infoblox, said, “We’re very excited to welcome Enterasys into the growing community of vendors supporting the IF-MAP standard; more IF-MAP products in the market lead to more end user deployments, which drives further adoption by vendors. We’re rapidly reaching an inflection point in IF-MAP adoption, driven by the compelling applications and reduced integration costs that the technology enables.”
