Infoblox Inc., the network control company that provides Actionable Network Intelligence, today announced it is collaborating with The Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Automated Indicator Sharing (AIS) program to share feeds on indicators of compromise (IP Addresses and hostnames). Infoblox ActiveTrust® suite provides real-time automated sharing of threat intelligence to deliver stronger and more effective protection against cyberattacks. The partnership of the public and private sector allows organizations to benefit from shared threat intelligence which can be used to expedite threat remediation
Cyberattacks and threats keep increasing and changing however many companies’ security levels aren’t keeping pace. More than 90% of malware attacks involve a domain name lookup to connect back to bad actors’ command and control infrastructure. By integrating DNS data with the broader security ecosystem, the organization’s security becomes smarter and security operations teams can better detect and prevent cyberattacks.
Infoblox ActiveTrust suite is designed to keep your DNS and existing security infrastructure updated on new and evolving malicious Internet threats. ActiveTrust provides the following customer benefits:
- Proactively detect and protect users accessing potentially harmful domains from the customer’s network or while roaming
- Prevent data exfiltration and malware based C&C communications via DNS
- Provide curated threat intelligence so it can be shared across your security infrastructure
- Rapidly investigate threat indicators of compromise for context and prioritization
- Accelerate threat remediation and compliance through a seamless integration with existing security infrastructure
- Unify reporting, analytics and policy management for on premise and cloud based service
“Cyberattacks are increasing at an alarming rate and addressing them requires bridging silos within organizations and cooperation across organizations. Cooperation between the public and private sectors is imperative to building a robust security ecosystem,” said Prakash Nagpal, vice president of product marketing at Infoblox. “By participating in the AIS program, a federal and private sector partnership that enables the exchange of cyber threat indicators at machine speed, Infoblox is helping organizations around the world to receive timely and vital threat intelligence. We are continuously evolving our products to provide customers with the ability to detect and remediate threats faster.”
The DHS AIS program enables the exchange of cyberthreat indicators between the federal government and the private sector. AIS is a part of the Department of Homeland Security’s effort to create an ecosystem in which threat information can be disseminated in real time; as soon as a company or federal agency observes an attempted compromise, the indicator is shared with AIS program partners, including Infoblox. In addition to integrating with the DHS Automated Indicator Sharing program, Infoblox will contribute data from its own original threat research to DHS’s National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC) that allows bidirectional sharing of cyber threat indicators
