Robert Thomas, President and
Chief Executive Officer
Robert Thomas brings more than 25 years of technical, sales, marketing, and
management experience in the technology sector to his role as
president and chief executive officer of Infoblox. Most recently, he
was president and CEO of NetScreen Technologies, where he grew the
company from 31 employees to 950 employees and led its successful
public offering and eventual acquisition by Juniper Networks. Before
NetScreen, Thomas held positions at Sun Microsystems, Fujitsu, and
ICL. During his nine years at Sun Microsystems, he was general
manager of intercontinental operations and director of international
marketing development, overseeing Sun's international business
opportunities and policies. Robert holds a B.Sc. in mathematics from
Adelaide University in Australia.
Stuart
Bailey, Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Stuart Bailey defines the company's technological vision and
direction. Before founding Infoblox, Stuart held a five-year stint
as technical lead for the Laboratory for Advanced Computing/National
Center for Data Mining at the University of Illinois at Chicago,
where he led teams in developing advanced distributed data
architectures. He has numerous publications in leading scientific
journals, conference proceedings, and trade magazines in the areas
of appliance engineering, high performance computing, database
systems, and distributed data mining. Stuart earned his bachelor's
degree in computer engineering from the University of Illinois.
Remo Canessa, Chief Financial Officer
Remo Canessa is responsible for managing the finance, IT,
operations, and human resources functions at Infoblox. Remo, who was
most recently the CFO at NetScreen Technologies Inc., brings more
than 20 years of experience in finance and administration to the
company. At NetScreen, he helped orchestrate the company's
successful IPO in 2001 and played a critical role in assuring its
continued revenue growth. Remo also has served as a vice president
of finance, CFO, and treasurer of Bell Microproducts, Inc., a
computer equipment distribution company. Additionally, he held
various CFO and finance positions with InfoSeek Corp. and Raster
Graphics Inc. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of
California, Berkeley, an M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara
and is a certified public accountant (inactive).
Giri Iyer,
Vice President, Global Customer Advocacy
Giri Iyer manages Infoblox's global customer advocacy and support
programs. Giri brings over 13 years of experience in the management
and development of multi-level technical support teams and systems
to the company. Before joining Infoblox, he was the director of
technical support services at ONStor, a storage area networking
startup. Previously, he directed all technical support activities at
Inktomi Corporation. He has also managed technical support programs
for Alteon Web Systems and Auspex Systems. Giri received a B.S. in
Computer Science from Columbia University and a M.S. in Computer
Science from California State University.
Richard Kagan,
Vice President, Marketing

Richard Kagan directs all marketing programs at Infoblox, including
channel and product marketing, positioning and brand development,
industry analyst and public relations, communications, and strategic
alliance initiatives. He has over 24 years experience in the
telecommunications, networking, and security industries. Richard
joined Infoblox from Fortinet where, as vice president of marketing,
he built and led the team that defined and introduced a new
category of integrated security appliances that represents the
fastest growing segment of the network security market. Prior
to Fortinet, he served as the founding vice president of marketing
for VPNet, the first provider of ASIC-based VPN gateways, which
was purchased by Avaya. Richard also has held engineering and
marketing roles at Echelon, ROLM, and Bell Laboratories. He earned
a B..S in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan,
Ann Arbor and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University
of California, Berkeley. Richard has been published in numerous
technical and business publications and is co-inventor on three
patents in networking.
Cricket Liu,
Vice President, Architecture
Cricket Liu is an authority on the Domain Name System and the
co-author of all of O'Reilly & Associates' Nutshell Handbooks on
DNS, including the classic DNS and BIND. Cricket helps guide the
development of Infoblox's product strategy and service offerings,
and serves as a liaison between Infoblox and the technical
community. He worked for Hewlett-Packard for nearly ten years, where
he ran hp.com, one of the largest corporate domains in the world,
and helped found HP's Internet consulting business. Cricket later
co-founded his own Internet consulting and training company, Acme
Byte & Wire. After Network Solutions acquired Acme Byte &
Wire, Cricket became Director of DNS Product Management.
Sohail Parekh, Vice President, Engineering
Sohail Parekh is responsible for driving the development of Infoblox’s industry-leading core network services platforms. With more than 20 years in engineering and development roles, including experience in building products from concept to deployment, Sohail has a long history of enterprise and telco-grade networking infrastructure development. Most recently, Sohail led development efforts at Vernier Networks, a provider of network access control solutions, where he was responsible for all product development, quality assurance, and product support efforts. He also has broad networking, security, Voice over IP (VoIP), and telecom expertise accumulated in similar roles at Syndeo Corporation, Junction Inc., Precision Systems, and Grumman Data Systems, amongst others. Sohail holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Mark Smith, Vice
President, Worldwide Sales
Mark
Smith is responsible for managing the sales and channel support
organization that delivers Infoblox's award-winning products and
services. Smith, formerly vice president of corporate sales with
Juniper Networks and vice president of worldwide sales with
NetScreen Technologies, which was acquired by Juniper in April 2004,
brings to the company more than 20 years of sales experience in
networking, network security, computer systems and client/server
software markets. While at NetScreen, Smith was named one of
VARBusiness' Top 100 Execs of the year and a Computer Reseller News
Channel Chief and he played an instrumental role in the company's
success by consistently delivering double-digit quarter-on-quarter
revenue growth. Smith also has held various sales positions at
Apptitude Inc., Network Peripherals, Inc. (NPI), Digital
Communications Associates and Zenith Data Systems. He holds a B.A.
in political science from Wheaton College.
Thomas
Banahan, Managing Director, Tenaya Capital
Thomas Banahan joined the private equity division and Tenaya Capital in 1999. Previously, he spent twenty years working as an
operational manager in the technology industry. Most recently, he
was the vice president of business development for Marimba, Inc. (MRBA).
Thomas joined Marimba as the 14th employee and was involved in all
areas of the company's growth through its successful public offering
in April 1999. Prior to Marimba, he was the vice president of
worldwide sales for Spyglass, Inc. (SPYG). He joined Spyglass as the
23rd employee and was instrumental in positioning Spyglass as the
first Internet company to access the public equity markets in June
1995. During the six years prior to Spyglass, Thomas worked for
Comdisco, Inc. (CDO) as a vice president of sales. He started his
career in the sales organization at IBM (IBM) where he spent seven
years. He currently is a director of Celion Networks, Inc.,
Composite Software, Inc., Infoblox, Network Telephone Company, Inc.,
Primarion, Inc. and SevenSpace. He holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Michael
Goguen, Partner, Sequoia Capital
Michael Goguen is a venture capitalist at Sequoia Capital US partner focusing on cleantech, semiconductor and systems investments. He is a Director of ConSentry,
Ikanos, Infoblox, LogLogic, MEMX, Navini, Ometric, PayDay One, Sipera
and WideRay. Mike was responsible for Sequoia Capital's investments in Ardent, MaxComm, Monterey Networks, Netiverse, and Pipelinks,
which were all acquired by Cisco. He was also responsible for investments
in Spatial Wireless (ALA), Avanex (AVNX), NetScreen (JNPR), Versatile
(acquired by Vitesse), Redback Networks (RBAK), Springbank (acquired
by CacheFlow), Yago Systems (acquired by Cabletron), and VitalSigns
Software (acquired by International Network Services, Lucent). Before
joining Sequoia Capital in 1996, Michael spent 10 years in various
engineering, research, and product management roles at DEC, SynOptics
and Centillion, and was a director of Engineering at Bay Networks
(NT). Michael was also a Technical Chairman of the ATM Forum.
Michael has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University
and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Frank
Marshall, General Partner, Big Basin Partners LP
Frank Marshall is a private investor and consultant to
high-technology companies. He is a member of the board of directors
of Juniper Networks Inc. (JNPR) and PMC-Sierra Inc (PMCS). Frank is
also a member of the advisory board of Interwest Partners and Focus
Ventures, and a board member of Pixim Inc. and Metrofi Inc. Before
its purchase by Juniper, Frank was a founding investor, board
member, and chairman of the board of directors for NetScreen
Technologies, Inc. Previously, he held positions at Covad
Communications as its CEO and vice chairman. He also has served as
vice president, general manager of Cisco System's Core Business
Unit; and vice president of engineering, responsible for all of
Cisco's new product development efforts in both hardware and
software. Frank earned a B.S. in electrical
engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. in electrical
engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
Thomas Mendoza, Vice Chairman, NetApp
Tom Mendoza joined Network Appliance in 1994 as the head of North American Sales and later served as the company's president from 2000 until 2008. Tom has more than 30 years as a high technology executive and has served on the boards of multiple high tech companies. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is an alumnus of Stanford University's Executive Business Program and is a guest lecturer at both institutions. In September 2000, the University of Notre Dame renamed their business school the Mendoza College of Business based upon an endowment from Tom and his wife, Kathy. Tom often speaks about corporate culture and leadership for organizations all over the world. He has been the keynote speaker for such diverse companies as Oracle, the U.S. Marine Corps and at CIO Executive Summits around the globe.
Daniel
Phelps, Partner, Duchossois Technology Partners (DTEC)
Dan Phelps joined DTEC in 1999 and focuses on networking investments in both the enterprise
and carrier markets. He currently
serves on the boards of several DTEC portfolio companies, including
Infoblox, Mobilitec, NetNearU, Nexthop Technologies, Personeta,
and Rubicon Genomics. He is also responsible for DTEC’s
investment in Intellon. Previously, he served on the
board of Clarity Technologies, acquired by Cambridge Silicon
Radio (LSE:CSR.L). Before joining DTEC, Dan was with
the Pritzker Financial Office in Chicago, where his responsibilities
focused on principal investments in a variety of industries.
Previously, he was a member of the financial services group
at Ernst & Young. He graduated with Honors from The Ohio
State University with a BSBA and received his MBA. from
the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
