DNS Traffic Control (DTC):
Using Service Records (SRV) for Selecting Active Directory Servers
For server authentication in global server load balancing (GSLB), most Microsoft Active Directory (AD) clients can detect sites and subnets. But some clients authenticating to a directory (e.g., Linux Servers) are not “site aware” and therefore cannot negotiate AD sites and subnets. Ross Gibson, Infoblox Sr. System Engineer, demonstrates how to solve this problem by using DTC’s Service Record (SRV) capability, topology rulesets and Extensible Attribute data to control AD authentication server selection.
