IPv6 Experts to Share Transition Best Practices on O’Reilly Media Webcast

Infoblox Inc., the DNS, DHCP and IP address Management (IPAM) market leader with the largest installed base of IPv6-ready DDI appliances, today announced that the Company’s resident IPv6 and Domain Name System (DNS) expert, Infoblox Vice President of Architecture and Technology, Cricket Liu, will participate in an O’Reilly Media webcast on Thursday, April 21, 2011, titled: “IPv6 Fundamentals—Keys to Avoid Common Transition Mistakes”.

For more information and to register for the event, visit: http://oreillynet.com/pub/e/1902. Webcast attendees will learn about:

Also participating in the webinar is Owen DeLong, an IPv6 Evangelist at Hurricane Electric, a leading IPv6 network service provider and a member of the ARIN Advisory Council. Owen commented: “The transition to IPv6 can seem daunting, but, with the right service provider, quality training, carefully chosen products, a clear plan and good testing, enterprises will be able to perform a smooth transition. Each of these areas can benefit significantly from good experienced professional services. I’m grateful to O’Reilly and Infoblox for including me in this session and I applaud Infoblox’s decision to lead IPv6 efforts in their product space.”

Cricket Liu, the co-author of all of O’Reilly’s Nutshell Handbooks on DNS, including DNS and BIND, DNS on Windows 2000, DNS on Windows Server 2003, and the DNS & BIND Cookbook, commented: “The exhaustion of IPv4 addresses does not spell the death of IPv4, but the beginning of its long, slow decline. For the foreseeable future we’ll be running both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and using transition technologies to move between the two. However, even with the most advanced technologies, there are risks associated with charting new waters. Getting educated by participating in webcasts like this one put on by O’Reilly and investigating best practices is essential to avoiding mistakes along the way.”
