Let\u2019s look at one of many integrations that will bring security right at the top of the table which highlights about Azure Active Directory Single Sign on experience with Infoblox DDI. Infoblox offers robust DNS solutions, including support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/dns-security-resource-center\/dns-security-solutions\/dns-security-solutions-dns-security-extensions-dnssec\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DNSSEC<\/strong><\/a> to ensure secure and authenticated DNS traffic.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note : The SAML Single-Sign-on steps discussed in this blog can be used as a reference for any other 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party IDP being integrated with Infoblox vNIOS<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Azure is Microsoft\u2019s cloud computing offering. Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) is the cloud identity and access management solution for managing users in the Azure Cloud. IT admins use Azure AD to authenticate access to Azure, Office 365\u2122, and a group of other Enterprise applications through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/blog\/is-azure-ad-an-identity-provider\/\">limited SAML single sign-on (SSO)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Benchmark factor why Azure AD is growing in Enterprise space is Authentication protocols used in Azure AD are cloud-based authentication protocols like OAuth2, SAML, and WS-Security for user authentication while its predecessor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varonis.com\/blog\/what-is-active-directory\/\">Windows Active Directory<\/a>\u00a0(AD) still uses Kerberos and NTLM which are legacy protocols.<\/p>\n<p>A few Prerequisites to set up SSO for Infoblox vNIOS in your Azure AD tenant are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An Azure account with an active subscription<\/li>\n<li>One of the following roles: Global Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator, Application Administrator, or owner of the service principal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let\u2019s talk about configuration steps to get Azure AD authentication working against Infoblox vNIOS or any other Enterprise application that support SAML.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>1. <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/auth0.com\/docs\/connections\/enterprise\/azure-active-directory\/v2#register-your-app-in-the-azure-portal\"><strong>Registering on-prem Infoblox vNIOS as Enterprise application on Azure AD<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this step, Navigate to Azure active directory portal and create an Enterprise application in the category of non-gallery application as below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5933\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.infoblox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-1.png 601w, https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-1-300x82.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5932\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.infoblox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-2.png 601w, https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-2-300x68.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>2. SAML configuration on Azure side <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft Azure now comes up with simplified view to ease configuration experience to set up SAML 2.0. SAML configuration on Infoblox side<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The next step is to Add Azure AD to your Infoblox vNIOS, which also supports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/glossary\/domain-name-system-security-extensions-dnssec\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>domain name system security extensions DNSSEC<\/strong><\/a> for enhanced authentication. Navigate to the path highlighted below. Add a new \u201cSAML Authentication Service\u201d and upload the Federation data extracted from Azure AD SAML configuration.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5928\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.infoblox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-6.png 601w, https:\/\/www.infoblox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Azure-6-300x173.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Infoblox supports Just-in-time user provisioning when users are authenticated using 3<sup>rd<\/sup> party IDP. Test SSO Integration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now at this point we are ready to test the single sign on feature.
