Most notably, how and where we work.\u00a0 Mandated lockdowns have required employers to quickly regroup and acclimate to managing a workforce that is almost entirely remote.\u00a0 Just a few months ago most work was performed at a designated brick and mortar site established by the employer.\u00a0 Today our homes have become our office.\u00a0 For those new to working remotely, their personal lives have been disrupted as employees create make-shift office space to accommodate the merging of home and work.\u00a0 Employers who managed with a \u201cbutts in seats\u201d mindset are now required to explore new ways to maintain productivity and see remote working from a different lens. As we\u2019ve settled into a new way of work, we\u2019re learning a lot. With the right tools,\u00a0 a secure network (using Infoblox technology) and managers who have the necessary skills to lead remote teams, employees can be just as productive working remotely as they are working in an office.\u00a0 Some will argue that employees can be even more productive by minimizing interruptions, reducing commute times and working more efficiently using video conferencing technology.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the chaos we\u2019re living in today, there\u2019s a silver lining.\u00a0 We\u2019re learning a different way of working that is proving to boost productivity for many.\u00a0 We\u2019re blurring the lines between work and home.\u00a0 In doing so we\u2019re meeting families, their pets, and sharing our home with our colleagues.\u00a0 We\u2019re improving the health of our environment by reducing auto emissions.\u00a0 We\u2019re getting to know our neighbors and reconnecting with family.\u00a0 We\u2019re becoming more health conscientious by using good hygiene practices and protecting the health of others. We\u2019re reducing the office footprint resulting in saving Facilities costs.\u00a0 We\u2019re also enhancing our applicant pool by broadening our recruitment landscape.\u00a0 We don\u2019t necessarily have to hire someone close to the office. Working remotely, full time or part time, will become the new norm; a welcome change.<\/p>\n<p>COVID-19 has been a game changer for every employer across the globe.\u00a0 Yes, many of us are swimming in unchartered territory.\u00a0 However, this journey can be the catalyst to building an exceptional\u00a0employee\/employer experience by learning to work together in new and different ways.\u00a0 Embrace the new way of working.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The residual effect of Covid-19 has impacted every part of our lives, including our work environment.
