The NIOS 8.1 release extends Infoblox\u2019s integration with VMware\u2019s SDN offering. Its Version 4.2 IPAM adapter supports DNS and IPAM automation with NSX to improve virtual server management and optimize application performance. \u00a0This also improves network analysis by adding DDI automation for VMware NSX load balancers.<\/p>\n
NIOS 8.1 software has several enhancements in reporting and analytics. Switchport control history is now part of reporting so network administrators can ascertain when a switchport is turned on\/off for audits during compliance and security events. The version also has the ability to report on new, inactive, unmanaged subnet and IP addresses. This provides visibility to subnets, VLANs and IP addresses that have \u201ccome and gone\u201d over time, and a deeper insight to end hosts.<\/p>\n
In addition, the NIOS 8.1 release includes DDI automation for Docker containers. NIOS 8.1 functionality can automatically assign IP addresses and DNS records to Docker containers, accelerating the process of turning up and taking down services. Another enhancement in the NIOS 8.1 release is integration with Rapid7 Nexpose based on our RESTful outbound APIs.
