NIOS API Workshop
The Infoblox NIOS API Workshop builds on the NIOS Configuration Class. It teaches custom programming and integration for Infoblox solutions.

This intensive 2-day hands-on expert course briefly reviews the Perl programming language before presenting the NIOS Script pack and API. Participants will learn to modify existing scripts to create custom behavior, then migrate data from Microsoft and Unix environments to a Grid of Infoblox network service appliances.

Prerequisite: Perl Programming experience

Note: This course is required for achieving Certified Infoblox Professional Services Engineer Level 2 certification. Infoblox partners must previously have achived Certified Infoblox Professional Services Engineer Level 1 before attending this class.

Day 1
  1. Review of Perl scripts, uses
  2. Data Scrubbing
    (DDNS issues, overlap, etc.)
  3. Perl object-oriented API, the basics
  4. Write your own working backup.pl
  5. Dissecting bind89_import.pl, how it works
  6. Custom DNS data import
  7. Dissecting dhcpd_conf_import.pl, how it works
  8. Custom DHCP data import, discussion
Day 2
  1. Data importing to a Grid environment
  2. Perl API, in-depth
  3. Migrating from MS servers running
    DHCP and DNS to Infoblox Grid
  4. Migrating from Unix servers
    DNS & DHCP to to Infoblox Grid
  5. Certification testing
