NetMRI and SNMP walk

Hello,

We are curious to see if the NetMRI performs a full SNMP walk each time it goes out and "sees" a known device. I.e. when a config changes or unit health. We are troubleshooting data flow issues and the one thing that we are not sure of is the NetMRI SNMP walk topic. If anyone knows if the NetMRI performs a full SNMP walk every 15 or 30 minutes at a time please let me know.

Thanks

Re: NetMRI and SNMP walk

No, NetMRI does not do a full walk each time. It collects different tables/OIDs at different intervals. There is some control over this for Switch Port Management, for the specific tables needed for that functionality. Other tables are collected at intervals designed to capture most changes but minimize impact upon the network devices.

Re: NetMRI and SNMP walk

So what is happening is that it performs a certain chunk of SNMP walk each time, just not a full one? And how often does it perform this walk? I know that its stated that the NetMRI looks for new devices every 30 minutes but how often does it go out for performance, environmental, etc? Sorry for the questions but we are just trying to characterize our data flow issue. Thanks for the response.

Re: NetMRI and SNMP walk

You can find that out in the NetMRI itself. Go to Settings (Gear Icon), then to the Setup section, and click on Collector Status.
