Force a default view for all users

Hello all,

We own 2 infoblox 1050 appliances. We are running NIOS 5.1r1.

I was wondering if there is a way to force the windows layout (columns sorting, columns size, columns displayed).

Is there a possibility to use a global template that force at least the view for the global smart folders?

We use several extensibles attributes that are not displayed by defaults.

We would like to implement a global view for all the users.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Re: Force a default view for all users

This is not currently possible.  I would recommend filing an RFE with your sales team.

Re: Force a default view for all users

Hello again Don,

Many thanks, but I guess we are not the only company who need that function? seems pretty standard in enterprises?

Do you know if Infoblox scheduled that in next NIOS release maybe?

What RFE means ? (Request For Extension?)

Could you describe more the process, i'm sure to get your point...

Thanks and regards

RFE means "request for enhancement".  Typically that's something you want added to the product so you can ask the sales team to submit it for you.  That gives the sales team an opportunity to determine if the feature already exists (but may not be obvious) or find out exactly what you want so they can convey that information to the engineering team.  Not all RFEs can be implemented but Infoblox does take customer feedback into account when developing new functionality.

I recommend having a phone or in person conversation with your sales team to explain to them what you're trying to achieve so they can write it up.  It works best with examples (no matter how simple the feature appears to be).

This is a question that your specific sales team would have to answer usually by setting up a roadmap meeting.

have you looked at the filter option in the top right corner?

Re: Force a default view for all users

Hello Donny,

Yes, but I guess this is not "forcable" for all users, it is only for the current session...or I miss something?

Re: Force a default view for all users

I agree with this request, we have a number of users to set up who will be updating the data.

Re: Force a default view for all users

An RFE has been done with Infoblox.

I hope we will see something coming over the next NIOS updates...
