JR, who commented on my original blog posting about ICE's seizure of domain names, pointed out that several of these domain names weren't directly selling counterfeit or copyright-infringing goods. I hadn't heard that, but today there's a New York Times article detailing what JR said. The article also mentions that several affected sites have simply moved elsewhere; for example, RapGodfathers.com is now RapGodfathers.info.
